And this is one of the reasons why I got into health coaching….. I was chatting with a co-worker a few weeks ago as she was going to be missing some time off work to go to dr. appointments as she was having some health concerns. If people are open to it, I ask questions..about their overall wellness, and most importantly about what types of foods and liquids are going into their bodies. When I listened to what she’s been eating and to the symptoms she was having in her body, I immediately had recommendations on what could be eliminated from her diet to address these concerns. I provided guidance on what to change in her diet and what things to include in place of these items. Two weeks later after following my recommendations, she told me she was finally able to eat a full meal without having the symptoms and she’s beginning to feel a sense of normalcy.
This was the best part of my day today. To be able to help someone that is struggling with their health and see them make a change and start feeling like themselves again is why I do this, it’s why I became a health coach. I’m so grateful for what I learned throughout my courses at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN). Biggest takeaway is “your body can heal itself by itself, if given the chance.” Using food as medicine and replacing the bad with the good can make a huge difference in your overall health and wellness.
